We are in need of some volunteering for sure! Here are some ways that you can get involved by volunteering:
1. Volunteer yourself.
As soon as we get this big ball started we are going to need help. On October 6 we are going to be having our Grand Opening and I am going to need some volunteers to be there wearing a Makerspace T-shirt answering questions, walking around, and just being a friendly face. I don't know how many people are going to be coming to the Grand Opening, but I would rather have more help than not enough. We will be discussing this more at our Maker Meeting this month.
2. Volunteer your tools and machinery.
You may not know this, but PA Makerspace is trying to build this company totally without debt and fully funded by the memberships, the classes, the merchandise, and possible camps. We are looking for plenty of ways of bringing in revenue to keep this company growing and expanding to nearby areas in PA. However, here are the beginning we are desperate for tools and machinery. That is where you come in. If you are willing to lend the Makerspace some tools and machinery, then in exchange we would offer you a discount on Membership or possibly even free Membership (depending on what you lend us) just until we get the money to purchase new equipment. We will maintain your equipment and return it to you when we no longer need it. If you are interested in this option, we can discuss this further in person.
3. Volunteer your time and expertise.
Once we past the Grand Opening and we are officially open for business, we are going to need some help with answering phone calls, answering questions, facilitating a club meeting, or just being present to make sure there is always help around in case someone gets hurt. We are willing to work out an exchange of help. You help us by volunteering in these general areas and we help you out by discounting your membership fees and possibly eliminating your membership fees depending on how much you want to help. If you want more info on this we can discuss this more in person.
These are just a few ways of volunteering your time, tools, and talents. I look forward to working with you in the future and please don't ever hesitate to contact me and ask questions!
